Vittorio Fuccella

Dr. Vittorio FuccellaVittorio Fuccella received the laurea (cum laude) and PhD degrees in computer science from the University of Salerno, Fisciano, Italy, in 2003 and 2007, respectively. His research interests include Human-Computer Interaction, Information Visualization, E-learning and Web Engineering. In the above fields he co-authored more than 50 refereed scientific papers, published on national and international journals, book chapters and conference proceedings.

He is currently Associate Professor at the Department of Informatics, University of Salerno. He has been a research fellow / contractor on several research projects in the above cited research fields in the past. He has also been an Adjunct Professor at the University of Sannio and a teaching assistant at the University of Salerno and at the University of Naples ``Federico II''. Furthermore, he has been appointed as a commissioner in some examination boards at the above institutions and has given seminars in the academy.

He has served in the organization of national and international conferences as a member of the organizing committee and the scientific committee and as a reviewer of scientific papers for national and international journals and conferences. He currently serves as Senior Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on Human-Machine Systems.


Awards and Honors

  • Co-author of the paper "Logging and Visualization of Learner Behaviour in Web-Based E-Testing" awarded with the Best Paper Award at ICWL '07.
  • Co-author of the paper "Gestures and widgets: performance in text editing on multi-touch capable mobile devices" awarded with the Best Paper Honorable Mention Award at CHI'13.
